Apple Computer reported today that it has developed computer chips that can store and play music inside women’s breasts.
This is considered to be a major breakthrough because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.

Well I finally got my TV. Yes I bit the bullet and bought a 47″ Vizio GV47L. The TV is beautiful. Standard def (regular) broadcasts are a little muddled - which is to be expexcted; but High def programming looks amazing!
Much to my shagrin, I had to ditch DirecTV. In my local area (Portland, OR), they only offer the local NBC and Fox affiliates in HD. CBS (KOIN) and ABC (KATU) are not offered by DirecTV. I submitted a waiver to get the LA (high def) feeds so I could watch primetime shows in HDTV, but both KOIN and KATU denied my request (which was all handled by DirecTV). I don’t get it. Why be a nazi like that? If there’s anyone who has any insight into how this HDTV - Satellite relationship works, please chime in.
So long story short - I had to go back to Comcast. Their DVR sucks compared to my Tivo I had with DirecTV. Hopefully Comcast will adopt Tivo’s UI soon. But one plus is that I got a cable modem which is much faster than the DSL I had before this. Read the rest of this entry »

While perusing the Intarwebs, I found this awesome article on news.com regarding how cell phone manufacturers such as Nokia and Motorola are shifting their strategies in the United States. In the US, we typically by a handset from our provider (Verizon, Cingular, whoever) that has been subsidized. That is, the raw cost of the phone is $499 or so, but if you sign up with a contract with Verizon they give you the phone for $50 or so.
Sounds great, but then they have you in a service agreement (by the balls is how I put it) and your bound to stay with them almost no matter what.
The new business model being pursued by handset makers is to offer phones directly to consumers. So consumers have a choice in buying an ‘unlocked’ phone and can come and go as they please - just the way it is in Europe, etc.
I hope this model goes well!

One of the only things holding back from the iPhone’s success, in my opinion, is it’s lack of 3G support - this may be a thing of the past according to Gizmodo.

this couple was wondering why their water bill was so high each month.
What follows is pure awesomeness. My friend Laycie will be mad at me because I saw this first - she’s the queen of crazy cat videos. I call her crazy cat lady.

To my knowledge, for the last few weeks (maybe a month) the Apple Airport Extreme was not available on the Apple site. If you went to apple.com/airport you were shown the Apple Airport Express
Well now I see that the Apple Airport Extreme is back, this time with 802.11N (draft)! It ships in February!

So MacWorld has come and gone. We have two exciting products to look forward to - the Apple Phone and the AppleTV.
The AppleTV is basically a streaming device to stream video, audio, and pictures from your computer to your TV (HDTV preferably!) It’ll be $299 and is available in February of this year.

The Apple Phone is a revolutionary device that will basically make it an extension of your Mac. All touch screen - this thing looks awesome. It’s on Cingular and will be available sometime within the next year. $499 for a 4GB model and $599 for 8 GB. I’m a little overwhelmed by the price but the feature set looks AMAZING! It runs OSX, has a web browser, mobile email/chat, the whole 9 yards!
