Canon’s New TX1

Canon just released the TX1 – a beautiful new camera that takes great looking still images (at 7.1 megapixels) and wonderful video at HD rates (720p). Wow! And they’re doing all this for an MSRP of only $500. How yummy!

Wow, that looks sweet and I have really been wanting a camcorder lately.

Sign me up for one, please! :-)

This could very well replace my SD700 as my “always carry” camera. I love the 10x optical zoom. The only thing I’m wary of is the (apparent) lack of optical IS. I’ve become very used to that, and don’t know if I could give it up!

Josh – if you look at the slideshow on the linked page (on crunchgear) it says “image stabilizer” on the top of the cam. does this address what you’re saying?
