Your comment about "Asterisk provides an open source (free software) PBX system, but to use it you have to be a wise phone geek and have copious amounts time to invest in implementing the system." is just not accurte.

For folks who want an open source asterisk solution or a plug and play Asterisk-based system can do it without tears: simply try www.digium.com/switchvox and download Switchvox Free or www.asterisknow.org and download AsteriskNOW for free. For a pure but powerful business phone system with no geek skills should use Switchvox Free. Both of these systems are completely free. Upgrading to commercially supported versions with Web 2.0-based user interface with all sorts of advanced features such as drag and drop transfers or call park, integration with CRm, Google Maps etc, are available at a single click from Switchvox Free.

I love these hosted VoIP PBX options. The features are brilliant, but it's the flexibility that wins us over. There's no concealing the fact that our business is small, but at least our customers don't have to pay a penalty for dealing with us. They only need call one number and we either answer immediately or call back without fail. "KISS."
