China Upholds Their Need For Perfection, Even When They Have To Fake It

China up holds their need for perfection, even when they have to fake it to impress the world. Yesterday it was all over the news that the spectacular footsteps in the Olympic opening ceremony were faked, or “enhanced” depending on how you look at it, with pre-recorded footage of computer generated images. Here is an example of the faked footsteps:

Now, it turns out the cute little girl we saw singing in the show was just lipsyncing, according to Yahoo! News. The actual girl who originally sung the song was “not cute enough” to sing in the ceremony, said general music director Chen Qigang.

It’s one thing to enhance some footage to fake some fireworks, but it takes the fakery to the whole new level when you put in a lip synching character to take the place of the original singer.

Shame on China and the committee who staged this little show.
