To celebrate Oregon’s 150th anniversary of Statehood, Oregon State University (my fine alma matter!) has joined the a Flickr project dubbed “The Commons”. In doing so, OSU is the first university to take part in the project.

The contributed OSU images show the Civilian Conservation Corps show what life was like in Oregon’s earliest history and celebrate forestry and conservation.

The Flickr Commons was launched in January of 2008 and is in partnership with the US Library of Congress. Since the launch of the Commons, 21 meuseiums, libraries, and cultural organizations have offered images to increase the visibility of cultural photography.
